Athenabacchus Vineyard
Athenabacchus was established in the Spring of 1998 with a 1.5 Ha plot of Chardonnay.
Two years later the Shiraz block was planted followed two years later by a Pinot Gris and a Sauvignon Blanc plot.
The first harvest was in March 2002 but 2003 saw the first wine produced from our vines – the Shiraz.
Athenabacchus is the result of one man’s stubborn dream and the hard work of the family.
For five years we commuted to the vineyard on the weekends to work a little more on the dream that has become the reality of Athenabacchus.
But, what does the name mean?
Athena gave us olives for peace
Bacchus gave us wine to celebrate.

Gallery On Track
Gallery On Track is the home of Goulburn and District Arts and Crafts Inc – a cooperative of local artists and artisans. Producing high quality arts and craft, this venue is a ‘must see’ on any visit to Goulburn.
‘Gallery On Track’ hosts a wide variety of works by local artists for sale.
Delight in the talent of local spinners, weavers, textile artists, painters, woodworkers and much more.
The Gallery is staffed by volunteers, most of whom are the creators of the works for sale – others simply support community creativity.
Goulburn and District Arts and Crafts Inc. has many groups meeting and sharing creative input, such as hand spinners and weavers, calligraphy and many more. For more information on groups or courses run please contact us during opening hours.

Garroorigang Heritage Homestead
Garroorigang Heritage Homestead was built in Garroorigang served first as an inn on the road to the Araluen goldfields.
In 1868 it was purchased by Samuel Belcher, and English classics master who had emigrated to Goulburn in 1862 and who established in the homestead a private school for the “sons of gentlemen”. The school operated until 1883 during which time a number of distinguished Australians received their early education under Belcher. As a result of marriage the homestead became the private home of the Hume family, collateral descendants of the explorer, Hamilton Hume.
Garroorigang is unique for its original intact collection of early Australian colonial and Victorian furnishings reflecting its 150 years of living history.
Family members provide personally guided tours through the house and its collection. Group tours and individual visits are welcome, preferably with prior notice, especially for groups.
Parking is available inside the homestead grounds, including for coaches.

Goulburn 1880s Classroom
Located at the Old Goulburn Brewery, excursions for Primary/Infants classes may be 2-4 hours. Up to 44 students accepted for 1880s costuming and lessons. We use dip pens and ink. We teach Latin, Old Maths, Copy Writing, Manners and Old Games. Teachers and students dress up and role play a day in school in 1880.

Goulburn Regional Art Gallery
The Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, situated in the Goulburn Civic Centre, has an exhibition and public program which focuses on contemporary art covering a wide range of art and craft media.
Exhibitions change monthly and include work by regional artists and craftspeople, as well as travelling exhibitions.

Goulburn Regional History Room
The Regional History Room of Goulburn Branch Library collects, maintains and provides public access to a wide range of research materials for tracing local and family history in the Southern Tablelands region, including the centres of Goulburn, Yass, Crookwell, Gunning and Braidwood.
Resources available include local newspapers and magazines, books, family files, and maps and photographs. These are provided jointly by the Southern Tablelands Regional Library and the Goulburn District Historical Society. The Regional History Room is also a designated Community Access Point for State Records of NSW and their Archives Resource Kit.

Goulburn Skate Park
Over 1200 square metres of concrete and steel. Heaps of nice transitioned sections including over vert nodule, fair few rails, ledges and banks, quarter pipes, bowls and grid blocks.
Built by Dorfus and the crew from Convic, it is the best skate park in the region.

Goulburn War Memorial and Museum
The Goulburn War Memorial was built by public conscription in 1924 as a lasting tribute to the gallant men of Goulburn and the District who served in WorldВ War 1. Inside the tower is a tablet inscribed with the names of those who enlisted from the District. The lookout gallery at the top of the memorial provides spectacular views over the city of Goulburn and it’s surrounding environment.
